Mom's Bread Pudding

Bread Pudding

9 Slices Toasted Bread
2 Tblsp. Butter
1/2 Cup Sugar
1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
3 Eggs (beaten)
1 tsp. Vanilla
Dash of Salt
2 1/2 Cups Scalded Milk

Heat oven to 350. Place a large pan with 1 inch of water in the oven and allow it to heat too.

Break bread into a 9x13 glass pan. 

In a saucepan heat sugar, eggs, salt and butter (just until butter is melted). Add vanilla and pour over bread. Place 9x13 into the pan of water in the oven and bake for 60 minutes, or until knife comes out mostly clean.

Drizzle (or in my case smother) with warm butterscotch sauce before serving.


My Recipe
I like a fast and lazy method, so this is what I do... 


Toasted bread to fill a 9x13
1/4 cup butter
5 eggs
2/3 cup sugar
4 cups milk
1 Tbsp. vanilla


Fill a 9x13 with bread. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Melt butter. Add eggs, milk and vanilla. Pour over bread and bake as per instructions above.
