Lemon Nut Bread

Lemon Nut Bread

1/3 cup shortening
1 scant cup sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups flour
1 Tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup milk
1 lemon rInd grated
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Set Aside:
1 Tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 cup sugar

Beat well after each addition. Pour into a greased bread pan. Bake at 375 for 50 minutes. Mix lemon juice and sugar. Spoon lemon-sugar over lemon bread while it’s hot. Cool and remove from pan. Keep refrigerated. 

*It gets yummier as the days go by, if you can wait!
