Brower's Wheat Bread

These loaves got a little too toasty...but oh so good!

Brower's Wheat Bread

1 3/4 cups warm water
1 scant Tablespoon yeast
1/4 cup honey
1/2 cup dry milk
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 cup oil or bacon grease
3 cups wheat flour
1 1/4 cups white flour

Activate yeast in the warm water and honey. Add remaining ingredients. Knead on a floured surface. Add flour while kneading until dough is no longer sticky. Divide dough into three balls. Stuff into well greased tall cans and push all air out. Let rise one hour. Bake at 350 on bottom shelf of oven for 60-70 minutes. Let cool 5 minutes and take out of cans.

*This bread is made in coffee cans. If you don’t have any cans you can make it in regular bread pans, but it isn't as moist that way.
